The Wisla seems to be disappearing before our eyes. Today you could see the sandy river bottom metres away from the normal river bank and even patches of sand in the middle where the water wasn't deep enough. It looked so shallow right the way across that you could probably walk from one side to the other.We've had some really heavy rain recently but only in between long periods of hot, dry weather. It's a big contrast to this time last year when the river was so full half of Poland was underwater. Rain needed perhaps, but not too much!
